Its been a while...

Well, It's been a while since I last posted so here is a little update. I moved to sunny California and I have  been here a couple months now. The weather is great and I have gotten a few interviews so things are moving along:] One of the things that really bugs me about moving is that the scanner got busted ( among many other things.) So I have some really great drawings that I can't post yet...
but here is another new demo I have been working on so let me know what you think.

Learning to fly

My characters Arie and Kahn when they were kids. This piece is for my character design portfolio. I needed to make more drawings so my portfolio could tell a more cohesive story. So hopefully these new digital paintings will help it along.

I am not too terribly happy with how their skin tone came out. It just doesn't look right to me. But I just have too much to do to dwindle on them right now. So here they are, the cute pair.

Alien lady called Blur

I was just admiring some digital paintings that someone I know had done and I was like "Man, I really have got to practice." So here it is. A work in progress digital painting done entirely in photoshop. I usually draw a quick sketch physically and scan it in and start from there but I forced my self to do it all on the puter. Not bad so far.

This is the beginning sketch to some art work that I have been wanting to do for my cousin for a while. This is a nice picture of them two that I altered a bit so that they were looking directly at each other. 

My Brothers Tat design

This is the start to a redo of a tattoo design that my big brother has been wanting for quite a while now. He wanted a sort of guardian angel figure. I wanted to draw a woman who looked strong, assertive, and at the same time somber. Kind of a " don't mess with me, I mean business." look, but still have that feminine quality about her. I wanted her to look like she could use that sword and shield if she needed to.

I also thought it would be neat if I threw some viking elements in there. ( we are descended from them so it works.) I didn't look at a viking helmet though... I kinda just drew it.  Haha.

Long time no see...

I haven't posted in a little while so here is a little something that I started quite a while ago and just never got around to scanning it in. It is the beginnings of a short comic I want to do inspired by a coworkers experience waxing her armpits. Here the raw sketches I did. I am going to lay it out and color it in photoshop. I think I still need to do some sketches before I take it into photoshop though to finish the story.

Oh, school scanner... how I miss thee.

SO... It's been nice putting up my work, but honestly they are all drawings I did a while ago. I am dying to put up some new work and even make a daily comic or something but I don't really have the means at the moment. How frustrating. Well until I acquire my scanner these old pics will have to do. One day I will just bombard my blog with tons of new drawings.

As my first sketch posting I am choosing Daryle. He is a character that I used for a senior class and I like how he is kinda surly and apathetic yet still kinda funny in his expression. When I drew him I was working in a deli so I was feeling kinda how he was feeling, or any body in the food industry for that matter.Longest description you will get for a sketch I think...

So this is a blog.... heh.

Anywho.

My name is Serena Yetter and I graduated from the Illinois Institute of art bleh de bleh bleh. Long story short I have a BA in media Arts and Animation.

Friend convinced me to start a blog so here I am. She figured it might help me draw and create more since I have been in such a slump. hope she is right :]

Working full time and the onslaught of bills doesn't help the creative juices but heres is to winning against all odds! Every kid my age and their mother is pretty much in this situation. Thanks Sallie M%!.
Blood sucking, money grubbing.... you know.
